1926 La Galerie is pleased to announce Poetics of Space, a group exhibition on view from 11th to 27th September 2025, featuring new and recent works by five contemporary artists: Lina Rincon, Nicole Debono, Olaug Vethal, Micko, and Mariam de Giorgio.
Taking inspiration from the domestic realm, Poetics of Space turns inward to examine the interior spaces we inhabit — our homes. These rooms, corners, thresholds, and furnishings become more than their physical structures; they are vessels of memory, emotion, and identity. Each artist in the exhibition offers a personal reflection on how interiors shape our psychological and sensory experience.
From nostalgic evocations to abstract meditations on space and structure, the featured paintings delve into the intimacy of home life — its stillness, its clutter, its solitude, and its warmth. As a collective presentation, Poetics of Space invites the viewer to consider the quiet poetry embedded in everyday surroundings.
Set within the refined walls of 1926 La Galerie, just opposite the historic Manuel Theatre in Valletta, the exhibition creates a fitting dialogue between domestic interiority and architectural heritage.
